Well, it certainly has been a while and a lot has happened. I have now got a REAL job in Airport Operations at Midland International Airport working for the Department of Airports for the City of Midland. These pictures should bring you up to date.

It all began with a phone call. A phone call from Midland, TX offering me a job as an Airport Operations Agent.

Welcome to my Apartment at Polo Park Apartments. This is what my living room looks like.

My kitchen.

And my bedroom.

After a long journey to get here, my parents and I decided to relax and enjoy the Commerative Air Force (CAF) and Fina airsho (Not Airshow but Airsho).... OK so maybe I enjoyed it a little more than them.

This is a P-51 in hot pursuit of a Japanese Zero (That is what is giving off the smoke).

Formation Flying at its best!

This is an Avenger. Similar to what former President George H. W. Bush flew in World War II.

F4U Corsair. An awesome looking plane when viewed straight on. (Aaron you'll love this!) Unfortunately I had to crop in to get a good view so excuse the low quality.

This is two P-51s flying in formation. This shot is deceptive because it looks like they are fused if not touching. I assure there is plenty of seperation.

B-17 with its bomb bays open.

B-17 as she passed by.

B-25 Mitchell. Although not as flashy as some of the other bombers in WWII, it is my favorite. Perhaps its because of the Doolittle Raid.

B-24 Liberator. You might remember Diamond Lil from my other post during my interview. Well here she is in flight.

The British Avro Lancaster. If you look closely you can see the Counter Rotating Props!

A Huey from the Vietnam Era!

A-1 Skyraider from Vietnam Era as well.

No, I did not take this picture upside down. The F-15 was performing for the crowd.

This shot actually came out better than I expected.

Three Fighters from 3 eras of Amercian Air Power! P-51 Mustang, F-4 Phantom, and F-15 Eagle! This was a really good part of the show!

Another view as they passed by.

The three as they approach.

This is one of my favorite shots. The three in silhouette as they are about to break formation and go their seperate ways.

This is a P-47. This is also the pilot's (Col. Ollie Crawford) last flight because he was retiring at the age of 80!

The Fire Department here at Midland giving him a shower to honor his retirement!

That night after the airshow, I decided to show my parents the famous West Texas Sunset!

Going, going, gone...

WORK!

This is a typical view of what it looks like out of the Airport Operations Control Center (AOCC). They average 355 days of sunshine here in Midland, TX! Notice the Runway behind the aircraft...

However, I can tell you, that I have been here for 7 of the "10 days of rain"... They say that its a fluke. As you can see by this picture we had FOG! The fog was thick! Notice now you can't SEE the runway......

The Sunrise.... Maybe?

Where am I?

Now things are beginning to improve they can actually fly now! I can just BARELY see the runway...

C-5 doing touch and goes!

And there she is getting airborne!

F-18 taxiing to parking...

Takeoff!

Low Fly Takeoff!

Boyd and I working the traffic for the Goodyear Blimp! (God I love my job!!!!)

Bad picture of me, but this is me inside the Goodyear Blimp!

Boyd in the Goodyear Blimp!

Texas after dark... I drove 20 miles south of the airport one night and used a tripod to take this picture.... however it doesn't even do it justice on how beautiful the night sky is!

FIRE!!!!! the ARFF Dept. was demonstrating a Live Burn for a group of people so I tagged along to get some photos!

CFR 2 putting out the fire that was...

and this was one of the last pictures I got before my camera broke.... This is Boyd in the Suburban driving around the airfield chasing a Coyote! This means it will be a while before I update my blog again... so I hope you enjoyed.
