Mac's Random Photos

Well, it hasn't been too long since I last uploaded some photos but a LOT has happened. So let me begin...

First is this shot. A Southwest Airlines deverted to MAF due to pressurization problems. As you can see the ARFF truck holding short of the RWY waiting for it to land to provide chase response and our OPS vehicle there to assist and do a debris inspection.

Here we have two V-22 Ospreys that came to Midland.

Although a cool looking plane, it really is a flying bucket of bolts...

Here they are taking off.

And there they go.

I thought this was a cool looking helicopter.

So this is a dust storm approaching. It was a clear day and then suddenly on the horizon this "Cloud" appeared.

This is not haze, this is the dust. According to some of my co-workers, this was not a "bad" dust storm because you could still see. As you can see the windock is sticking pratically straight out indicating very strong winds.

I thought this was a cool paint job of a Lear.

Another helicopter.

An interesting shot.

I also liked this shot.

another.

Same helicopter now at night.

yeah....

I liked this one too....

Continental Express taking off RWY 16R.

A Cessna Citation X.

I like this is aircraft.

This is our ARFF Department (Station #7) located at the airport. You can also see the control tower in the background.

An Apache at night.

Ameriflight (UPS feeder) being refueled and packages being taken off.

There they are getting ready to go.

Now, we had a "special visitor" come to Midland. First Lady Laura Bush flew in to visit her mother and dedicate the President Bush Childhood Home, along with Barbara Bush, and George Bush Sr.

Here the first lady is landing RWY 16R.

I liked this shot. Pointed right at me.

If you look close you can see the First Lady getting off the plane and into her Motorcade.

There she goes.

After she left I could get as close to the plane as I wanted (Although not onboard).

That night I worked the midnight shift and talked to the guy guarding the plane. He said he has traveled all over the world with the first lady and other dignataries.

I HAD to get this shot to show everyone just how close to the plane I was.

The next day after the dedication, Everyone was flying out. Here you can see Barbara Bush getting on her flight. I never saw Sr.

I got this shot while waiting for the First Lady to show up.

Here her Motorcade pulls up.

There she is boarding.

Another.

There she goes departing RWY 16R.
